Summer Time
We finally got the hot tub up and running in July! The kids really enjoyed swimming all summer. Damon likes to take late night dips when he can!
Las Vegas!
City Creek Center
This summer we took Damon to the new City Creek Center mall that just opened up downtown. Damon had a blast playing in all of the fountains!
The Friend Birthday Party
This year Damon had 2 birthday parties!! He had a small one out of town on his birthday and one with his friends after school started. Damon was really excited to have a party that he could invited all of his friends to. He took 16 invitations to hand out at school, but only one boy Damien showed up for the party. Damon didn't seem to mind the low turn out (More cake and ice cream for him).
They did an Optimus Prime pinata and pin the tail on the donkey. Damon's favorite part was the cake, ice cream, candy, prizes and presents!
Third Grade!!
Damon started third grade at East Midvale Elementary in Aug. He is lucky enough to have 2 teachers this year, Mrs. Hughes and Mrs. Witcamp. One of the teachers is there in the morning and the other one comes in the afternoon. Having two teachers instead of one helps keep Damon interested through the whole day! Damon is also enjoying having his little brother Kyler at his school this year! The boys are able to ride the bus to school together everyday, and eat breakfast together in the cafeteria every morning. Damon and Kyler's classes are right across the hall from one another so they are able to bump in to one another through out the day.
Damon is also attending the boys and girls club after school everyday until 6:00 pm. He enjoys playing games with his friends and doing art. On Weds. he goes to scouts for a couple hours during boys and girls club. He is also studying Japanese after school.
Damon has to work really hard to stay concentrated and keep up with the class. He has a packet of homework that he has to do every week as well as spelling words and reading. Every night he works on his homework packet with Dan and does a spelling test and reading with Mom. We have been taking him to the public library every month to pick out books for his monthly book report. He is also able to pick out 2 books of his choice. This month he is doing Horrid Henry (recommended for 3rd grade reading level) for his book report and Marine Corps and a Technology books for his choice.
